How should I prepare for my appointment?
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for 1 week before.
Stop using skincare products with strong active ingredients for 1 week before:
- Retinoids
- Salicylic acid,
- Glycolic acid,
- Benzoyl peroxide
- Hydroquinone
Prior to your appointment, cleanse the treatment area and avoid using any skincare products after you cleanse.
What can I expect afterwards?
You may experience a mild to moderate sunburn sensation following the treatment and a slight to moderate amount of swelling. Peeling and redness are normal and may last 2-7 days.
Aftercare:
- Use a gentle cleanser on the treated area
- Makeup may be applied 1-2 days following the treatment
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure for 7-10 days post treatment and use a high-quality sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
- Do not use skincare products with strong ingredients like retinoids, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and benzoyl peroxide one week after your treatment.
- Application of skincare products is not recommended in the first 72 hours after treatment, with the exception of the following:
- Gentle cleanser (starting 24 hours after treatment)
- Bacitracin ointment
- Aquaphor
