How should I prepare for my appointment?
- Avoid retinol products 2-3 days before to minimize redness
- Avoid drinking alcohol 24-48 hours before treatment to minimize bruising.
- Avoid blood thinners, including but not limited to Aspirin, Vitamin E, and fish oil the day before treatment.
What can I expect afterwards?
With any injectable treatment, there is always the possibility of some minor injection site reactions. These could include bruising, swelling, tenderness, or itching, which are all normal and temporary.

- Apply an ice pack wrapped in cloth (preferably) to the treated area. This will reduce the risk of swelling and/or bruising after injection.
- Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day, for 5 days after your treatment (according to your provider’s instructions). Facial moisturizer should be used to perform the massage.
- Exposure of the treated area to sun and UV lamp exposure and extreme temperatures are to be avoided until any initial swelling and redness has resolved.
- You may take Tylenol if needed.
When will I see results, and how long will they last?
- Immediately after: skin appears plump and hydrated
- A few days post-treatment: skin may revert back to pre-treatment (note: this is normal and temporary)
- After 2-3 sessions over a couple of months: Noticeable results begin to emerge gradually and can last up to two years!
